Department Leader/Technician - Kalkaska

Prominent manufacturing company for aerospace and automotive with corporate offices and operations in Northern Michigan seeks a Department Leader/Technician for our Kalkaska facility. We are seeking an experienced leader to manage, operate and maintain three vacuum furnaces and assembly area. Our ideal candidate will be hands-on, and have experience and working knowledge with vacuum furnace operations for heat treating and brazing.

 

   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Run existing brazing programs and verify output to input program parameters (time, temperature, ramp and soak, partial pressure, vacuum) with documentation.
  • Run system safety and maintenance checks to ensure proper equipment operation and effectiveness of sensors and other monitoring devices.
  • Write and modify brazing process programs to achieve optimum results with time and energy usage.
  • Use visual examination methods to verify joint quality.
  • Help develop processes and tooling for new parts and raw materials.
  • Assist the Maintenance Department in troubleshooting vacuum furnace system faults when required.
  • Help perform and document daily preventive maintenance routines.
  • Engage in process development activities.
  • Work with the application of different braze blends and epoxy resin.
  • Maintain standards for ISO9001 and NADCAP.
  • Provide management and support of the furnace department and assembly area.

   Education:

    Degree or certification in welding, process control, metallurgy or heat treating.

    Heat treating/brazing experience preferred.

 

   Qualifications:

    Familiarity with ISO9001, aerospace quality systems, NADCAP and pyrometry desired.

    Ability to read blueprints to identify dimensional requirements and inspect a part to print.

    Proficient in the use calipers, micrometers and height gages. Able pass a vision test.

  • Oversee employees in the Braze/Solder Room.
  • Ensure production goals are met.
  • Ensure safety standards are upheld and enforced.
  • Problem solve and implement continuous improvement projects.
  • Perform production work as necessary.
  • Must be able to work effectively on a team, have a good work ethic, and have the ability to effectively communicate with team members and customers.

Tool Room / Engineering Support Specialist - Hillman

Prominent manufacturing company for aerospace and automotive market with operations in Northern Michigan seeks a Tool Room / Engineering Support Specialist for our Hillman Michigan location. This unique position would participate in the entire business cycle from quoting/APQP to maximizing production on the shop floor!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides status reports on projects to management.

• Reviews product design for compliance with company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.

• Produces NC Programs via Bob Cam Program and then incorporate it into the CNC equipment.

• Creates CAD drawings of tooling and dies.

• Interprets part blueprints in order to do a die layout to produce the part.

• Trains others on the operation of CNC equipment.

• Assembles tooling and part quotes for customers.

• Must be able to work effectively on a team, have a good work ethic, and have the ability to effectively communicate with team members and customers.

Education:

An associate degree in CAD with CAM experience is preferred.

Established in 1943, Wayne Wire Cloth Products is family owned and has an immediate opening at our facility located in beautiful Kalkaska, Michigan. Requirements:

  • Must be experienced with die design, construction and maintenance. Additional experience in machine build, fixture design and build, and work holding devices is preferred.
  • CNC programming along with industrial welding skills also highly desired.

Manufacturer of filter products has an opening for a person to perform industrial maintenance.  Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude, along with knowledge of machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and press operations.  Must have ability to diagnose and repair machinery problems, perform preventative maintenance, along with some facility maintenance.  P.L.C. knowledge / experience desired.  Ability to read, blueprints, specifications and manuals required.  Must be able/willing to work either first or second shift.  Excellent benefit package after 90 days.
