Materials Manager - Kalkaska

Prominent manufacturing company for aerospace and automotive with corporate offices and operations in Northern Michigan Manufacturer seeks a seasoned Materials Manager for Northwest Michigan headquarters.  We are seeking a Material Manager to lead all aspects of material management for a multi facility operation.  Background in domestic and off shore metals sourcing and procurement is essential.  The Material Manager will lead day-to-day materials operations and supervise a team of staff members.  Key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the procurement function.

  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability, and prepares market analysis reports.

  • Works with QA to recruit, develop and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a competitive price while  maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.

  • Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.

  • Negotiates or supervises the negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Frequently reviews and analyzes inventory to determine optimum levels, enhance cash flow, and meet corporate goals.

  • Manage the inventory control process and personnel including shipping and receiving along with the methods used for warehousing materials at all divisions.

  • Oversee the supplier ratings and address supplier delivery and/or quality problems as needed.

   Education:

    Bachelor’s degree with APICS certification desired, along with ten years of proven, successful managerial experience.

 

Qualifications:

   Experience with AS9100/ISO9000, lean manufacturing, kanban, pull systems, and MRP systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize workloads in order to meet deadlines and work flow; ability to work without management direction; use initiative and possess a positive attitude toward teamwork.
  • Solid foundation of the full range of procurement, inventory control, supply chain, and cost principles.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels in the organization.
  • Demonstrated success in leading a small team to achieve goals; proven capability to train and coach.

Engineering Support Specialist - Hillman

Northern Michigan manufacturer seeks an experienced individual to support our Tool Room department. An associate degree in CAD with CAM experience is preferred. Job functions include but are not limited to:  Produce an NC Program by taking a 3-D drawing, run it through Bob Cam Program and then incorporate it into the CNC; Make CAD drawings of tooling and dies; Interpret the blueprint of a part and do a die layout to produce that part; Able to help train others on the CNC machine. Must be able to work effectively on a team, have a good work ethic, and have the ability to effectively communicate with team members and customers. Knowledge of KeyCreator is desired.

Wayne Wire Cloth Products, Inc. in Hillman, MI is accepting applications for production operators. Must be able to work either first or second shift. Training is provided, and candidates must have great attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination and fine manipulation-dexterity, to handle small metal filters. Work involves machinery to cut, form, weld and/or solder filters. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods, and be able to successfully complete paperwork. You must be able to work effectively in a team environment and pass a drug screen.

Training is provided, and candidates must have great attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination and fine manipulation-dexterity, to handle small metal filters. Work involves machinery to cut, form, weld and/or solder filters. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods, and work under magnifying glasses or microscopes. You must be able to work effectively in a team environment, pass a vision test and drug screen, and be tobacco free.

Tool & Die Maker - Kalkaska
Northern Michigan manufacturer seeks an experienced Toolmaker to join our manufacturing facility. Established in 1943, Wayne Wire Cloth Products is family owned and has an immediate opening at our facility located in beautiful Kalkaska, Michigan. The area provides individuals and families outstanding quality of life and limitless recreational opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Must be experienced with die design, construction and maintenance. Additional experience in machine build, fixture design and build, and work holding devices is preferred.
  • CNC programming along with industrial welding skills also highly desired.
  • Ideal candidate will have a solid employment history with excellent team member skills, great work ethic and desire to succeed.

Maintenance - Kalkaska

Manufacturer of filter products has an opening for a person to perform industrial maintenance.  Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude, along with knowledge of machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and press operations.  Must have ability to diagnose and repair machinery problems, perform preventative maintenance, along with some facility maintenance.  P.L.C. knowledge / experience desired.  Ability to read, blueprints, specifications and manuals required.  Must be able/willing to work either first or second shift.  Excellent benefit package after 90 days.

Quality Inspector - Kalkaska


Individual needed to inspect manufactured filter products for commercial and aerospace industry. Requirements include 20/25 (or correctable) vision (in one eye), ability to see colors, prolonged sitting, and using a microscope. Product is being inspected for filter contamination, proper soldering, brazing and welding joining along with dimensional requirements. Must be able to read blueprints, know how to use calipers and micrometers along with other inspection tools and equipment. Training will be provided; good work and attendance record necessary, along with ability to work effectively in a team environment. Flex Plan, EAP, pay increases.

Education Required:

· High School Diploma/Equivalency

Job Characteristics:

· Full-time
